CHILD - HORSE - LEADER

The unique aspect of our program is that it is free of charge for everyone.  Time spent with our horses can offer individuals opportunities for healing, personal growth and more.

OUR BELIEF

We believe our program can promote independence, confidence and resilience through the power of a relationship with a horse. By creating space for healthy relationships between horse and human, and working with others on common goals, we help kids learn life skills in a safe, inclusive farm environment.
Through horses, humans can heal, develop and learn new skills that are uniquely provided by equine guides. And sometimes, positive changes can come from simply being in the presence of a horse’s unconditional acceptance and innate sensitivity.

Our program can help:

  • Improve emotional and physical strength

  • Heal from post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Manage special needs

  • Gain confidence and assertiveness

  • Improve communication and relationship skills

  • Become better leaders

  • Build effective and more collaborative teams

  • Become more self-aware

THE PROGRAM

Our program will pair one child, one horse and one leader for each session. The sessions will consist of spending 90 minutes taking care of and working/riding a horse while also helping with a farm chore. If a child is not experienced with horseback riding, we will not hurry the process of getting a child up onto a horse simply because they want to ride. We believe so much can be learned and experienced on the ground through knowledge, communication and bonding with a horse.
Children will be assessed upon their initial visit, and a program will be designed specific to their needs and abilities.

GROUP VISITS

We welcome group visits that focus on acts of community service and/or learning more about our program.  Partnerships with local groups are supported on a case by case basis. We are here for the community and want to try to accommodate everyone who is interested our farm.
