GET TO KNOW US
All aspects of Madison Grove Farm are managed and run 100% by volunteer support. We have individuals that come frequently, as well as one-off volunteer visits. Below are a few key faces we’d like to introduce.
Marla McNary
FOUNDER
Fulfilling a lifelong dream to help horses and children, Marla founded Madison Grove Farm in 2008. As a young teen she experienced first hand the therapeutic benefits of time spent with a horse after the tragic death of her only sister, Linda. Marla has remained an active equestrian throughout her life. She earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and retired from her corporate career in 2015 to volunteer on the farm full time. She welcomes all to the farm with an open heart and will share her story if it can help another. You can often hear her saying, “… my horse healed me so I know it can work for others.”
Janis Mack
volunteer lead
Janis is a lifelong equestrian, with extensive equine knowledge. She loves to spend her free time on the farm working to support our mission of caring for horse and human alike. She has been volunteering weekly for over 8 years, from when we were located in Fall City to our current location in Winlock. She is a huge asset to our program and we are lucky to have her continued support.
Russ Pfaff
volunteer lead
Russ has been involved with the farm program since he brought his son to the farm as participant years ago. He is the reason our equipment runs and the fences and what not are functioning. Russ can often be found driving around the farm on his tractor. He is married to Marla and they live on the farm full-time.
Anna Voigt
volunteer lead
Anna bring her extensive equestrian and special education teaching background to our farm program. She is active in many areas of the program, equine training/care, mentor relationships, event execution and more. Anna lives up north and has been supporting our mission for years. She does a lot behind the scenes and visits the farm as she is able.
Volunteer Leads
Janis, Anna, and Russ.
Teresa White
Program Apprentice
Teresa is our first program apprentice. She comes to us with equestrian experience and a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington. She is planning to open her own similar equine therapy program one day. Her volunteer work on our farm supports all aspects of our program as she is here to learn the “in and outs” of it all. Teresa and her two sons live on the farm.
